Call For Bands for 2024!

The City’s Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting submissions for local and regional bands to perform during the 2024 Rhythm on the River Concert Series this summer! The free Summer Concert Series takes place in the West Sacramento Bridge District at Drakes: the Barn on the last Thursday of the month May through August, 2024. This monthly all-ages music event will also feature food and family-friendly activities. 
Concerts Dates are: 5/30, 6/27, 7/25, 8/29.

Submissions can be emailed or mailed, and should include:
• A sample of a live performance
• Band photo
• List of recent performances with attendance numbers
• Band’s booking fee.
• Professional references from recent performances are also encouraged.
The selection committee will consider all entries received by the January 12, 2024 deadline.

What is Rhythm on the River?
This is the City of West Sacramento's FREE family-friendly summer concert series featuring local and regional musicians performing original and classic tunes. Each themed concerts will occur on the last Thursday of the month from May through August. This series started in 2022. West Sac Rhythm on the River is held in partnership with the Bridge District and Drake’s the Barn.

Guests enjoy free children's activities in our Family Fun Zone.  Food and beverage are available for purchase from Drake's and food trucks. Be sure to bring blankets and folding chairs to enjoy the show comfortably on the grass area. 

Limited parking is available on the street and in parking lots, both require a fee. Residents are encouraged to utilize rideshare, West Sac VIA, or bike to the events.
No outside food or drinks are permitted.

Regular one-way fares currently cost $3.50 each and frequent riders can purchase a ViaPass for $15, allowing you to ride up to 4-times a day, every day of the week. Seniors 62+ and individuals with eligible disabilities receive a 50% discount off of the regular fare price and ViaPass price.
